Twitter Data Visualization

  • Client: Yarely Chino and Noemi Cuin
  • Category: location, API

With a Twitter Streaming API, the user is able to search any term or hashtag. While tweets are being streamed, the API filters through tweets to only gather the ones that contain geo-coordinates. The coordinates are then saved in a csv file. Finally with the Python libraries, Pytweet, Matplotlob, and Basemap, the coordinates are read from the csv file and placed in their designated location for a viewer friendly overview.
